Getting started
What does a turnkey fit-out include?
Everything from the first site visit to handover: space planning and 3D views, budgeting and estimates, procurement, civil work, carpentry and joinery, partitions, electrical, lighting and acoustics, painting, carpets and blinds, installation and site management, and maintenance afterwards. One team runs it under one contract.
Is the first consultation free?
Yes. The first conversation is free, online, at our office or on site. Share your brief, budget and references, and we’ll talk through the next steps.
Where do you work?
Across India. Our head office is in Bhandup West, Mumbai, and we take on projects anywhere in the country. We have delivered projects in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Goa, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, as well as Aurangabad and Mangalore, and offices in the UAE in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman. The same contract, process and 10-year warranty apply wherever the site is.
Which kinds of spaces do you design?
Corporate offices first, along with showrooms and retail roll-outs, hotels, restaurants and clubhouses, clinics and nursing homes, university and institutional buildings, studios and fitness centres.
Cost & payment
How do you estimate the cost?
After the first call we give you an approximate estimate. Once we have measured the site and studied your requirements in detail, we prepare a detailed estimate.
How are payments staged?
Typically 50% before work starts, 40% fifteen days after work begins and the final 10% seven days after completion. The schedule is confirmed in your contract.
How much does an office fit-out cost per sq ft?
Indicatively ₹2,000–₹3,500 per sq ft for design and build, depending on the specification: basic ₹2,000, standard ₹2,500, premium ₹3,500 per sq ft. These are planning figures, reviewed in Oct 2026; your estimate is confirmed after we survey the site.
Timelines
How long does an office fit-out take?
It depends on the area and the scope of work. We agree the timeline with you before work starts, and work to 45-day timelines wherever the scope allows.
Standards & compliance
Which certifications do you hold?
ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety. Designo is one of very few interior design firms in India certified to all three.
Can the layout follow Vastu?
Yes. Our in-house Vastu consultant reviews orientation, light, colour and placement, and we build the recommendations into the drawings before the layout is final.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. Several of our corporate projects are under NDA, and we show them on this site only as Confidential.
During works
Can you work while our office stays open?
Yes. Our ISO 45001 practices cover safety and hygiene in buildings that are already in use, and we plan the order of work with you so your teams can keep working.
How do you keep the site safe?
Our ISO 45001 system governs how we manage risk on site to protect your employees, our contractors and visitors, and the hygiene we keep in occupied buildings.
What happens to demolition waste?
Usable materials from demolition are donated to local charities and recycling centres, as part of our ISO 14001 commitment to cutting waste.
After handover
What warranty do you give?
Our interiors are backed by a 10-year warranty.
Do you look after the space afterwards?
Yes. Maintenance after handover is part of our services, carried out by the team that built your space.
Can you specify greener materials?
Yes. Low-VOC paints and finishes, energy-efficient lighting and appliances, local sourcing and water-saving fixtures are part of how we specify. See Designo EcoVisions for more.
Technology
Can you install AV, networking and security with the interiors?
Yes. Conference AV, networking and IT, CCTV, access control, fire alarm, PA, automation and acoustics are designed and installed by the same team, under the same contract and timeline as the interiors.
Which video conferencing platforms do you set up rooms for?
Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet. We match the room equipment to the platform your company already uses.
Will you work with our IT and security teams?
Yes. We work to your IT and security teams’ standards for equipment, cabling and configuration, and coordinate testing and switchover with them.
Can systems be added to an office that is already running?
Usually, yes. We survey the site, reuse what still works and plan the installation around your working hours and teams.
